‘I quit music because I wanted to focus on my family’ – Sweet Kid

Singer Moses Sserwadda alias Sweet Kid was one of the artists who took Ugandan music industry by storm in the early 2000s after emerging onto the scene with his hit song Brenda.

After a successful breakthrough, he didn’t back down but he went on to release other hit songs like Kiba Kibi, Gwe Ansanira, Sirina Mulala among others.

He won very many people’s hearts due to his vocal sweetness and his energetic performances on stage.

However, his premature retirement from music with no clear reason left very many people disappointed and up to this point people are still asking for the reason why Sweet Kid had to quit the industry.

However, in a recent interview, Sweet Kid who has been quiet for years has explained that he wanted more time for his family and children as a reason behind his early retirement from music.

He said the children were staying far away from him, they lacked his guidance and presence.

“I quit music because I wanted to focus on my family. My children and wife were already in Germany and I couldn’t get enough time with them. I could see them once a year until I chose to quit and focus on the growth of the family,” he said in an interview on NTV.

Sweet Kid had other hit songs like Akadde, Abeerawo, Sirikyusa among other songs. He currently lives in Germany together with his wife and children.

He was born on 13th September 1982 in Kawempe to Sulaiman Mulinyira and Robinah Nasaka.
