Heart-breaking news reaching our newsroom this Sunday morning confirms the passing away of Galaxy FM co-founder Pius Kamugisha aka Uncle Pio. According to our credible news sources, Kamugisha died after getting involved in a nasty car accident on Entebbe Highway last night.
According to the police statement, Pius who was driving a black Mercedes Benz ML (UBK 320P) tried to overtake a Toyota Hilux (UG 0382D) that was being driven by LT Col Byaruhabga Ephraim *I.O* *1st* *Div* *Kakiri*.
He knocked the Toyota Hilux on the rear light on the driver’s side, continued by scratching the driver’s door, and then hit off the side mirror.
Kamugisha Pius lost control and knocked the middle concrete barrier, the vehicle crossed back to the outer lane, rolled to the trench then overturned several times up to the resting position approximately 600m from the point of impact.
Well-wishers managed to pull him out of the wreckage but unfortunately died on the way to Mulago hospital.
