Bobi Wine Vows Not To Contest for Presidency in 2026

The National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has shocked the nation after coming out and reveal that he is not intending to run for the highest office in the land come 2026.

The musician turned-politician reveals that he will not contest for presidency if electoral reforms are not made.

Bobi Wine made the revelation during an interview with Pearl FM and explained there is no use of elections if the current president still has the power to appoint the chairman of the electoral body and its members.

“Unless there are reforms, you all know how the President has personalized all institutions. He is the one who appoints Byabakama and the group. That can’t be a fair election,” Bobi Wine said.

It should be noted that Bobi Wine was the first runner-up in the January 2021 elections in which President Museveni was announced the winner.
