After a successful maiden show that saw her filling the Lugogo Cricket Oval to capacity, singer Winnie Nwagi is set to become the first Ugandan artist to perform at Ovo Arena at Wembley Stadium in London.
Nwagi has got this juicy gig after being booked by Boss Entertainment in the ‘Celebrating Africa’ concert on October 21st 2022.
The ‘Katono Katono’ hit maker will be alongside Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, Nigeria’s Lojay, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania and French rapper Vegedream among others.
Boss Entertainment UK is bringing the most captivating African musical jam. The ‘Celebrating Africa’ Concert promises to entertain fans with back-to-back hits from the heart of the Continent of Africa.
“African music and sounds have had an enduring history over the years and has had immense impact on the world at large. “You cannot know where you are going without knowing where you have come from”, the ‘CELEBRATING AFRICA’ concert is rekindling the spirit of Africa, sparking the fire of celebrating the Continent through music and entertainment,” Boss Africa posted on their website.
Ovo Arena is an indoor arena next to Wembley Stadium in Wembley, London, England, used for music, comedy, family entertainment and sport.
The 12,500-seat facility is London’s second-largest indoor arena after The O2 Arena, and the ninth-largest in the United Kingdom.
The venue has seen some of the biggest names in popular music walk its doors: Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Cher, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Tina Turner, Madonna, ABBA, Stevie Wonder and many others.
In Africa, Burna Boy had a sold out concert at the Wembley with his multi-city “African Giant Tour”. Wizkid and David have also performed at the venue.
