VIDEO – How Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile predicted his death

Today Ugandans woke up in a somber mood after Deputy Governor Micheal Atingi-Ego announced the death of Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile. In his speech, Atingi-Ego said that Mutebile died this morning at Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted since December 31, 2021, after he collapsed because of complications related to diabetes.

Mutebile is heard talking about his death in a video making rounds on different social media platforms.

“There is nothing that will take me out of the seat except God,” Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile said.

Briefly, Mutebile was a Ugandan economist and banker. He was born on 27th January 1949 and died on 23rd January 2022. Tumusiime served as the governor of the Bank of Uganda, the central bank of Uganda from 2001 until his final hours on earth.

Mutebile attended Kigezi College Butobere for his O-Level studies. He later attended Makerere College School in Kampala for his A-Level studies. In 1970, he joined Makerere University, Uganda’s oldest University, while there, students elected him as guild president at the time.
