Kenzo should show us how to do it – Ykee Benda

Artist Wycliff Tugume alias Ykee Benda claims that Uganda artists should stay closer to Eddy Kenzo so that he show them how to get international nominations.

This came after Kenzo broke the barriers to become the first Ugandan to be nominated for the prestigious Grammy Awards.

The Sitya Loss hit maker was on Tuesday evening announced as one of the nominees for the  65th annual Grammy Awards, which will be handed out on February 5, 2023 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Now, according to Ykee Benda, he is now going to be close to Eddy Kenzo for blessings and to show him how he made it to Grammys.

“I am going to be close to Eddy Kenzo to show me how it is done. All artists should do the same,” Ykee Benda said.

Kenzo was nominated for his Gimme Love, a song in which he featured  with American singer, Matt B for the best global music performance.

He will be facing competition from Udhero Na by Arooj Aftab and Anoushka Shankar, Last Last by Burna Boy, Neva Bow Down by Rocky Dawuni featuring Blvk H3ro, and Bayethe Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini and Nomcebo Zikode.

This made Kenzo the first Ugandan artist to be nominated at the Grammy Awards.

Kenzo has also won numerous national and international awards, including a BET Award in 2015, a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award in 2018, and multiple other continental awards.
