Iryn Namubiru gives back to the community

As the festive season draws closer, artiste Iryn Namubiru has decided to put smiles on people’s faces by giving them some items to use.

Through her fans group called Iryn Nation, the Kawowo hit maker gave out items including rice, cooking oil, soap, sugar, bread among others.

“We started this initiative in 2006 and our main objective is to put smile on people’s faces. I remember where I came from, I was once a needy person and I was always happy when someone brought us things we rarely eat.”

“So, am happy to give back to other people in order to make them happy. Am not giving the whole village but do what is necessary.”

“We do not only stop at giving them materialistic things but we also do support other projects like agricultural projects.”

“I thank my fans who enabled me do this through Iryn Nation,” she said.

Iryn Namubiru started music in the late 1990s as a young girl but did not achieve widespread success until 2006, when she released her album Nkuweeki?.

Since 2006, Namubiru released the songs “Y’ono”, “Lwaki”, “Bonna Obasinga”, “Begombeko”, “Birowoozo”, for which she has received various awards in the Ugandan music industry.

In 2011, Namubiru won in four categories of the 2011 Pearl of Africa Music Awards (PAM). She won in the categories of Artist of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Best RnB Single of the Year.
